Reading a verdict
The seven bands describe how strongly the evidence supports or contradicts a claim. Truth percentage describes that assessment; confidence describes how well the available evidence supports making it. A high truth percentage with low confidence requires caution.
MIXED represents a substantive combination of supporting and opposing findings. UNVERIFIED means the evidence or analysis cannot support a trustworthy judgment; it is not simply another name for the middle band. Read the report's reasoning, citations, confidence and publishability qualification together.
Individual claims may differ from the overall assessment. Differences in time, method or geography should remain visible in the evidence and boundary findings. See quality and trust and terminology.
